Women are always seeking role models, and, everyone has a different version of who a role should be in the business world, especially women role models. One woman to watch (and who is setting herself away from the pack) is T.R. "Tina" Threston.
T.R. Threston is the C.E.O. of World Guide Publishing, additionally, she is a founding member and former Chairwoman of New York Travel Writers Society (now known as New York Travel Media Society); she is an honorary member of the Board of Directors with both The Social Network of New York City and The Royal Crown Society; and, she is Social Media Ambassador on behalf of the United Nations and 92nd Street Y program known as Giving Tuesday, and, she served as a delegate to the UN and PVBLIC Foundation 2014 Media 4 Social Impact Summit.
Additionally, Ms. Threston has recently joined Collective Changes, a women's empowerment organization as a Global Ambassador. And has been on National Women's History Museum Honor Roll for two years (2012 and 2013). Her work has earned her recogniztion beyond the United States and is a Harris Charitable Trust "2014 Globally Notable Individual of Positive Change Honoree". (Harris Charitable Trust is located in Northampton, England, United Kingdom.)
And, in a world where people such as Kim Kardashian and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi are idolized and considered "role models" it's nice to know that someone as grounded and accomplished as T.R. Threston is a positive role model to women every where. If we could only find more people like Ms. Threston girls today would begin to realize that anything is possible and you don't have to whore yourself out to do it!
