Business Manager
Arvada, CO ABOUT THE COMPANY AmeriPath, Inc. is the nation's largest physician and laboratory company focused on providing anatomic pathology, cancer diagnostic and healthcare information services to physicians, hospitals, national clinical laboratories and managed care organizations. The company presently operates in 24 states and provides medical services through outpatient pathology laboratories, hospital inpatient laboratories and outpatient surgery centers. Our Arvada practice has an immediate opening for a Business Manager. QUALIFICATIONS As a member of the Pacific Northwest / British Columbia† Area Leadership Team, the Area Senior HR Manager partners with the management team to achieve results through people • BS in Finance, Business or Healthcare Administration, required. • Masters in Business or Healthcare Administration, preferred. • Eight years progressive experience in health care management, required. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assures the laboratory complies with all regulatory and accrediting agencies. • Assures the Quality of laboratory operations meets and/or exceeds internal and external customers. • Assures employees are aware of laboratory issues through multiple communication tools. • Develops and implement strategies for increasing productivity and reducing costs. • Establishes, measures and communicates benchmarks for productivity, quality, efficiency (TAT and cost controls). • Creates strategies for adding new technology to the laboratory(s). • Works with the Managing Director(s) to promote communication and cooperation among the pathology staff. • Manages Hospital Services Agreements, assure executed contracts are maintained, analyze and make recommendations for contract changes to assure appropriate compensation for service levels provided. • Negotiates contracts with hospital administration as needed. • Managed care works closely with AmeriPath managed care department in analyzing impact of contracts, develop multi level relationships with key managed care company personnel, and participate in negotiation process as requested. • Leads or participates in regional or national projects as needed. • Works closely with finance/billing in analysis and strategic planning to assure financial goals of each assigned business unit is met.
